Coronation Street: Lydia threatens Adam in the street

Coronation Street viewers suggested that Adam Barlow made a big mistake on the ITV soap on Friday night, as he missed an opportunity to expose Lydia Chambers.

Lydia claims she was having an affair with Adam, much to his wife Sarah Platt’s heartbreak.

She framed Adam and left behind a mountain of evidence that something was going on between them, and sadly Adam’s words weren’t enough to convince Sarah that she was lying.

From receipts to hotels, underwear and oysters mentioned on Adam’s credit card statement, Sarah fell for Lydia’s lie and kicked Adam out of the house.

Adam tells Sarah it’s true and Lydia is clearly against him, but Sarah refuses to believe him.

He eventually chases Lydia and confronts her, asking why she lied about their fake love story.

Later, Lydia confesses that she went out of her way to get him, and plans to destroy every piece of his life – suggesting he did the same to her years ago.

Viewers believe that Adam made a big mistake confronting her, as she readily confessed that she lied and was setting him up.

Fans suggested that he should record their conversation on his phone, to catch her hanging out and replay it for Sarah.

One viewer tweeted: “That would be the ideal opportunity for Adam to record that conversation with his cell phone. Rookie mistake.”

Another agreed: “Seriously don’t see why Adam didn’t record that conversation.”

A third viewer tweeted: “I don’t think Adam thought of hitting record on his phone,” as a fourth tweeted: “As someone pointed out, why didn’t Adam record? this on his phone!”

Meanwhile, viewers couldn’t believe how quick Sarah was to trust Lydia over her husband.

Many fans recall a plot just a few weeks ago where Adam was terrorized by a mysterious stalker.

Of course the viewer knows his tormentor is Lydia, and it’s all part of her plan – but no one else knows this.

So when it all started Friday, viewers had no idea how Adam failed to find out that Lydia was behind the heartbreak a few weeks ago.

More than that, they were surprised that Sarah was more willing to trust Lydia than Adam, and despite Adam’s objections, she didn’t realize it had anything to do with recent events.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: “What a strange thing happened to Adam, plus the bad reviews about Adam etc but Sarah would of course trust her more than him and really don’t think that There’s nothing weird about it.”

Another tweeted: “Sarah and Adam have suffered harassment and abuse (and crime, IIRC) at the hands of an anonymous stalker for months. It’s unclear why they were so slow to bring it up. two and two together…”

A third agreed: “How about finding out Lydia is the stalker?” as a fourth said: “Corrie why doesn’t Adam insist that Lydia be the stalker? Call yourself a consultant or what you are supposed to be lol.”
