Coronation line: Emma saw her sketch in the newspaper

Alexandra Mardell has admitted that she picked up a pink fur coat from Coronation Street’s wardrobe as a reminder of her Emma Brooker character.

The 28-year-old actress is giving up on the ITV soap after 4 years playing the bubbly maid.

But before saying goodbye to the pebbles, she revealed that she couldn’t resist snapping a few ‘Emma’ souvenirs.

“I actually pinched quite a few bits – but I was allowed to pinch them,” she said YES! Journal.

“I picked up a very large pink fur coat that Emma wore for her hen, which I would probably never wear in real life, but it would be nice to have it – but for me the priority is Emma’s pink plaid dress.”

Emma’s exit will be airing on ITV soon, but the details of how she will leave the age-old series are still under wraps.

The beloved character has been involved in some major storylines lately, including being tricked by the love rat Curtis.

He was married to Emma before she discovered he had faked a life-threatening heart condition, even though he had nothing wrong with him.

Money from a charity set up for her younger brother, Oliver, who died of mitochondrial disease, is also mysteriously missing.

Will Jon, Emma’s new love interest find her secret?

This year, audiences watched Emma participate in a tragic accident that resulted in the death of an elderly man named Ted.

Emma was giving her classmate Faye Windass a driving lesson when they hit Ted as he crossed the street.

The girls helped him back to his apartment and all seemed fine, but then they found out he was dead.

Faye’s boyfriend, police officer Craig Tinker, helped the pair cover their tracks when Faye realized one of her fake nails had come off in Ted’s sink.

He later left the police, saying he could not continue working for the force when he learned he had covered up the crime.

Emma has since become close to Ted’s grandson, Jon, after meeting him at the funeral and the pair went on a string of dates.

While everything seems fine at the moment, is their dark secret about to come out – and will Faye or Emma pay the price for what they’ve done?

Alexandra’s passing is related to her Corrie co-stars

Soap bosses have previously hinted Emma’s exit could be linked to Ted’s death – and the possible theory is that Emma could be sent to jail or absconded.

Actress Alexandra does not rule out the possibility of returning to Corrie in the future, as she insists her character will not be killed.

The star revealed that she was satisfied with the final scenes and exit plot, but added that she was “emotional” and “overwhelmed” on set by the end.

She shared: “As soon as AD said ‘it’s a wrap, it’s Alexandra’s last scene’, I burst into tears uncontrollably. I couldn’t stop and I didn’t know what was wrong with me.”

Speaking to The Mirror and other presses about her decision to give up soap, Alexandra said: “It was really, really hard.

“Even now I still like what I did! I know it works for me, but I can easily see why people are there for 20, 60 years, because it’s such a wonderful place. to work.

“But I just wanted to play another character. Since I had to explore Emma in so many different ways, I also wanted to try out a lot of other people.”
