Coronation Road: Abi told Imran she might be pregnant

Coronation Street will finally reveal a shocking secret on the ITV soap on Friday night, seemingly a decision that leads to a huge and devastating discovery.

Fans know that Abi Franklin and Imran Habeeb secretly launched the show in September, and last month Abi gave birth to a baby.

She didn’t know she was 6 months pregnant until she went into labor and gave birth prematurely to baby boy Alfie – still in hospital.

Since then, Kevin Webster, Abi’s ex and Imran’s partner Toyah Battersby, has remained in the dark about their relationship as well as the truth about Alfie’s paternity.

Both have helped Abi in her battle for custody of their young son, after a local government lawyer suggested the child should be taken into care.

But a decision Imran made Friday night ahead of his own hearing with Toyah, regarding their hopes of adopting little Elsie, led to possible chaos.

Judging by spoilers for Monday’s episode, it looks like Friday’s hour-long episode will see the baby’s secret finally come to light, causing havoc.

It all started when Imran got his name written on Alfie’s birth certificate, in an attempt to prove to Abi that he wanted to be there for his son.

After registering Alfie’s birth, Abi brings the certificate and paperwork back home in an envelope – but along the way, she runs into Toyah.

Toyah sees the envelope and worries that Abi’s drug addiction is back, so she tells Kevin to keep an eye on her.

When Abi leaves the package unattended, he comes across it and decides to open it – fearing it could be drugs.

He goes to track and find the birth certificate, but is surprised to find that Imran is Alfie’s father.

He’ll be confronting Abi about it soon, but fans will have to stay tuned to find out what she said and what happens next.

Either way, it looks like the truth will come out at some point, as on Monday Toyah was heartbroken as she reeled from Abi and Imran’s betrayal.
