Coronation street star Kel Allen said goodbye to soap after two years.
And actress Laura Neelan said her final scenes will be emotional ones.
Fans of the ITV drama have seen Laura terminally ill and her daughter Kelly sacrificed to care for her.
She sacrificed herself in Friday night’s episode, claiming that she would be responsible for the murder of her husband Rick so that his real killer Gary Windass could continue to care for Kelly.
The plot was set to end with Laura’s death, and thus Kel left the show.
Talking about doing her last scenes, she said: “Oh my, it was so emotional. I feel emotional and start to fill up just thinking about it.
“What a way to go. When they asked me to come back for the last part of this story I couldn’t believe it was so cool I declined.
“As an actor letting your teeth get stuck in something so heartbreaking, dramatic and even with the humor thrown in is just unbelievable.
“It’s been three years [since Gary killed Rick] in the race and people were desperate for the truth to be revealed but I don’t think they were expecting that change.
“Because of that twist, the death scenes as they arrive are even more emotional.”
Kel said the partial landing on the soap was a dream come true.
“For me, it’s been an incredible job to play a great character and be part of a plot that really engages the audience,” she confessed.
“The biggest thing that I get from it is the relationships with the people there.
“Millie [Gibson, who plays Kelly] It’s unbelievable, such a talented actress and she’s the daughter I never had.
“I know Georgia [Taylor, who plays Leanne] before I joined because we trained together many years ago so it was great to work with her again. “
Kel said she also feels “lucky” to be working alongside Samia Longchambon (Maria), Mikey North (Gary) and Charlie de Melo (Imran).
Her final scenes will be shown on screens in the spring.
