Coronation Street star Paula Wilcox looks like she’s just aged half a decade after her role on Man About The House.

Paula has played Elaine Jones on ITV since 2020 but is best known for her role as Chrissy Plummer in the ’70s series.

Man About The House also stars Richard O’Sullivan and Sally Thomsett.

Although 45 years have passed, the actress is still recognized for her breakthrough role. She was only 24 years old when she joined the sitcom.

“I definitely still get recognition from Man About the House,” she explained to Woman’s Weekly.

“I get taxi drivers saying they used to love me, and I say, ‘You mean, what was it like?'”

Paula added: “It’s been amazing after all. It’s a lovely show and it’s a pleasure to be recognized for something dear to people’s hearts.

“It’s hard to believe today, but it was quite cheeky in its day.

“Two young girls sharing an apartment with a man are quite tired and both girls can flirt.

“There’s something for everyone and so many generations have watched it.”

She has previously talked about returning to Corrie after 51 long years.

Paula said at the time: “She was like a cavalryman rushing in to save Yasmeen.

“Her longing to see her son Tim again, yearning for some closure and justice in her life, it was a mix of all sorts of emotions.”

“…Fifty years ago, no one would talk about this,” she said as she came to save Yasmeen from her abusive ex-husband.

“Over the years, there have been more and more possibilities to discuss it.”
