The model was found guilty of murder after stabbing her boyfriend in the back because she allegedly cursed “f ***** g die”.

Melissa Turner, 29, killed her boyfriend Matthew Trussler, 25, at their home in Florida, USA, in October 2019.

The amateur model, who has declared self-defense, was found guilty of second-degree murder on Friday.

Her boyfriend’s body was found by police in a pool of blood after he was stabbed multiple times.

The next day, Turner was arrested and later charged with one count of second-degree murder.

Mr Trussler was pronounced dead by the fire brigade at the couple’s Hillsborough County home.

The county medical director confirmed he had a defensive wound to his right forearm while other cuts were found on his upper biceps, chest, right shoulder and mid-back.

During his trial, Turner told jurors that Trussler came home drunk at 4 a.m. and woke her up, which sparked an argument.

She said she was trying to defend herself after her boyfriend allegedly started strangling her, throwing her over the counter and grabbing a knife.

Turner told the court she thought Trussler “would kill me” and grabbed the blade after he put it down to strangle her again, reports Sun Online.

It was on that basis that she admitted to stabbing him in the back in self-defense.

Jurors heard a neighbor’s CCTV recording that allegedly showed a woman’s voice saying “I hate you” and “F*****g die”.

The footage also shows Turner breaking a glass and saying “so arrogant, I hate you.”

Her attorney John Trevena accepted that the voice belonged to Turner but said it was “manipulated” by the footage.

Turner may have to face life in prison

Mr Trevena told Law & Crime there were “a number of issues” that support why he believes the jury should declare Turner not guilty.

He added: “These issues include testimony from our audio-video expert Bruce Koenig that a Nest video recording from a neighbor across the street was being controlled in certain areas. to amplify the volume to make it sound like Mrs. Turner was shouting much louder and the parts in which the alleged victim was speaking were completely inaudible.

“Furthermore, it’s a matter of self-defense and the heat of passion.”

But it’s not clear why Turner waited hours to call authorities and allegedly changed her story just hours after officials arrived at the scene to find her covered in blood, according to reports. fox.

Turner refused a plea deal with 25 years in prison for her, according to court documents filed last week.

Second-degree murder is a Class A felony in Florida and carries a life sentence.

The house she bought with Trussler a few months before his death will also be taken from her due to foreclosure.
