Couples whose honeymoon went wrong could bag a free Maldives vacation

Couples whose honeymoon didn’t go according to plan could get a chance to do it all over again – only this time in a no-frills Maldives vacation

Honeymoon is meant to be an exciting journey for newlyweds, whether you tick one off Bucket List Goal or explore some of the the most romantic places in the world.
Unfortunately, not all honeymoons go according to plan.
Bad weather, cancellations due to the Covid pandemic or simple mishaps can quickly turn a dream vacation into a nightmare – which is especially sobering when it comes to celebrating new life together.
But a travel company wants to give a couple whose honeymoon went awry a chance for a real getaway. Oh, and this time it’s a FREE trip to the Maldives!
Yes, we’re talking over-the-water villas with private pools, luxurious restaurants, lavish spa treatments, and of course, plenty of time to relax on those scenic white-sand beaches.

Winged Boots, a personal travel management company, is offering one lucky couple a complimentary 10-night, full-board stay at Raffles Maldives Meradhoo Resort, which includes five nights in a beachfront villa with a pool and five in an overwater villa which has a private pool. Oh, and you also get £1,000 spending money to use at the resort’s restaurants and bars or to book excursions.
The competition is open to couples who were married or civil partnership before January 2022 and applications open as early as Winged Boots website. (You can also find full terms and conditions here).
To enter, couples simply have to share why they think they deserve a second honeymoon chance, whether it’s a heartfelt story, or if your trip was just filled with lots of funny (or not-so-funny) mishaps.
You must enter by April 11, 2022, when entries will close. Shortlisted applicants will then be contacted for a video interview and an independent judge will ultimately decide who wins the free holiday.
Winged Boots Managing Director David Ox said the competition came about because the company “wanted to offer a couple the opportunity to celebrate their relationship with an unforgettable honeymoon experience in the Maldives”.
He added that winners will also receive 24/7 access to a personal travel manager to help them plan the perfect itinerary for their trip.
