The test shots have intrigued movie buffs on social media, where they have been compared to scenes from the classic film The Matrix.

The film shows humanity living in a simulated reality while machines use their bodies as a source of energy.

Keanu Reeves plays Neo – given the choice between taking a red pill to reveal the truth, or a blue pill to forget the revelations.

One fan wrote: “You take the short blade of grass, the story is over, you wake up in the meadow and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the long grass, you’re in a wonderland, and I show you how deep the human wormhole goes.” Another added: “With sequels The Mootrix Reuddered and The Mootrix Rumination.”

The headset was developed with veterinarians and was first tested on a farm in Moscow. Cattle breeder Izzet Kocak has now put them on two cows in Aksaray, Turkey – and The Sun says the herd results have been very good.

Their production has increased from 22 liters to 27 liters a day.

Izzet, who has previously played his 180 animal classics, is happy to plan to buy 10 more headphones.

He said: “They were watching a verdant meadow and it gave them an uplifting feeling. They are less stressed.”

The Russian Agriculture Ministry says the system was developed on the principle that cows perceive shades of red better than shades of blue and green.

It added: “In the first trial, experts noted a reduction in anxiety.”
