Craig David has apologized to women who “tried to open my heart” after saying his first heartbreak made him find love

Craig David has spoken candidly about his struggle to open up to women after a heartbreak as a teenager.

The singing sensation, 40, is best known for her lyrics about female attention, but he admits his past played a part in him remaining single today.

The star claimed his heart was “closed” after breaking up with his first crush at school and says he’s struggled to maintain a long-term relationship since.

The 7 Days singer revealed his longest relationship to date lasted two and a half years.

Speaking of A CEO’s Diary with Steven Bartlett Speaking on the podcast, Craig said: “My heart was so open, I had this first heartbreak and it just went from being a kid with an open heart to suddenly breaking down.

“I had never felt anything like this before.

He continued, “I feel open enough to apologize for relationships that my heart was closed to. I feel sorry for the girls and women in the last phase of my life who tried to open my heart.”

Unfortunately for the MOBO winner, he’s also received some unwanted attention.

Earlier this year, a woman was handed a five-year ban to appeal, preventing her from contacting the singer.

During Jeal’s performance at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court, it was heard that she was “obsessed and in love” with the singer and claimed she had been his girlfriend since 2016.

Craig claimed the woman came to see him in November and rang the intercom multiple times.

She reportedly held a photo she took with him five years ago.

She also reportedly sent him a Snapchat picture of herself at a hotel where they were both said to be staying, along with the message, “I know you love me.”

The court heard she allegedly put a note under his door that read, “I hope Buddha handles lies like you, Buddha will handle it from here, you’re an asshole, from Tanya your motherf* ** Girlfriend”.
