Crawley Co-op: Man injured in attack outside supermarket

The attack took place outside a Co-op store in Dorsten Square, Crawley.

Between 7.30pm and 7.45pm on Friday January 6, a 27-year-old man was approached by an unidentified man who angered him.

He ignored the unknown man’s comments and went into the store.

After leaving the store, the 27-year-old was approached again by the man.

He dragged him around the corner and attacked him.

The victim sustained serious but not life-threatening or life-changing injuries.

Now police are investigating and have identified a man they want to speak to who may have information that could help them with their investigation.

The man is described as in his early 30s, approximately 5ft 10 inches tall, with reddish hair and freckles on his face.

He was wearing a thick, blue winter coat with a fur hood, blue jeans, and blue track shoes.

Officers want to speak to two men who became involved with the suspect after the attack.

They would like to speak to a man who alerted the shop assistant to the robbery.

All information can be reported to the police online or 101 stating the serial number 1257 from 06/01.
