Manchester United produced one of their best performances at Old Trafford in Ralf Rangnick’s final home game of the season.

It’s been a season to forget for United fans, who have watched a lackluster side for most of the season.

But the Red Devils gave them something to shout about Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphael Varane sealed a 3-0 win over Brentford.

Fernandes opened the scoring in the first half and ended his goal drought before Ronaldo doubled the lead with a penalty at the 168th club he has scored against. Varane then took the three points after the break as he scored his first goal for the club.

There were many big talking points throughout the game – Here are a few moments you may have missed.

Ronaldo’s gesture to Mata

Cristiano Ronaldo and Juan Mata turned back the years in the first half and were heavily involved in United’s attacks.

Mata, who is likely to play his last game at Old Trafford, made sure to leave fans with a game to remember as he kept popping up in dangerous areas. After a brilliant exchange of blows with Ronaldo, he almost extended the hosts’ lead after Fernandes’ opener. The Spaniard played a ball at the 37-year-old who, with exquisite skill, found his teammate with a one-two.

Mata came to the end and shot on goal, but his right footed shot was a bit wild as he smacked at the ball that went wide of the post.

Ronaldo was in high spirits afterwards as if he had been the majority of the game as he looked at Mata with a huge grin while the midfielder smiled at him.
