BLACK Friday and Cyber Monday have become two of the biggest shopping days in the UK – but what’s the difference between them?
Both days promise all consumers the chance to snag a bargain as retailers across the UK drop prices, here’s what savvy shoppers need to know.
What is the difference between Black Friday and Cyber Monday?
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving – in 2021, which is November 26.
Each year, major retailers like Amazon, Argos and Morrisons use Black Friday to offer massive discounts to shoppers just before Christmas begins.
But just because Black Friday has passed, doesn’t mean you’ve missed out on a great deal.
The deals continue until Cyber Monday, which is always the first Monday after Black Friday, so this year it falls on 11/29.
Outside of these dates, there are some other differences between the two, one being that Cyber Monday deals are only available to online stores while Black Friday also happens in store.
Also, Cyber Monday is a strict 24-hour shopping window but in recent years Black Friday has tended to be 5 days long.
What is the best date for a discount?
It’s hard to say unequivocally which day is better for a discount because the answer depends on what you want to buy.
If you are hoping to land a bargain in the area of technology, small appliances, cutlery, kitchenware or Apple products, then Black Friday could be the best for you.
There are always a lot of deals on technology.
However, if you’re looking for clothes, toys, shoes or beauty, you should consider shopping on Cyber Monday as previous years have had better discounts on this day.
Latest research shows Brits will spend £2.4million per minute today on record shopping.
They will blow £3.5 billion to make Cyber Monday bigger than Black Friday.
What deals are available on Cyber Monday 2021?
Many deals simply continued from Friday when they first launched for savvy shoppers to claim during the day of the sale.
But plenty of retailers rolled out their deals earlier this year, meaning shoppers have plenty of time to snag a bargain.
We’ve rounded up the best deals, including saving £99 on a Tefal air fryer and £35 off a coffee maker.
