Some Xbox Series S owners aren’t happy with the way Cyberpunk 2077 run on console after yesterday’s patch 1.5, and CD Projekt Red is taking note. The developer is committed to looking at bringing the Series S experience closer to other next-gen versions.
Even after the new next-gen upgrade, the Xbox Series S version of Cyberpunk 2077 only performed at 30 FPS, while the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions were able to hit 60 FPS with sporadic frames. The PS5 and Series X versions also feature ray tracing that reduces the frame rate by 30 FPS while providing 4K resolution. The Xbox Series S version now supports 1440p.
The biggest game of 2022
In a post on Forum CD Projekt Red, the developer said they’ve heard a request for improvement and are looking into the possibility of implementing it. However, CD Projekt said it was “investigating our options but do not know if this is possible”.
Aside from the difference in frame rates and the lack of ray tracing, the Series S version features all the content and improvements seen from other next-generation consoles. These improvements include new weapons, updated gameplay, and improved crowd response – a feature absent in the latest generation of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.
Cyberpunk 2077’s long-awaited next-gen upgrade arrived earlier this week, adding a 50GB patch, free DLC, and a new 5-hour free trial. Fans seem to largely on board with updates and changes to the game, it’s a welcome scene after the game bumpy famous debut in 2020.
