Cycle lane closures from London to Brighton

The London to Brighton cycle follows the British Heart Foundation drive that took place earlier this year. Today’s event raises money for Great Ormond Street Hospital and other charities.

Brighton and Hove City Council has ordered the closures with the following notice.

The Skyline – London to Brighton Cycle Ride takes place on Sunday 11th September 2022 and finishes at Madeira Drive, Brighton. To facilitate safe passage parts of the route have to be closed to traffic and as a result Brighton & Hove City Council issued an Order under Section 16A to C of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended, temporarily putting the following traffic into effect Regulations:

No one shall cause or permit any vehicle not participating in or associated with the Skyline London to Brighton Cycle Ride to enter, exit or turn off any of the road lengths specified below except in the direction of or with the permission of a Police Officer in Uniform or a uniformed Marshal:
Sunday, September 11, 2022 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m

Temporary road closures

1. Ditchling Road, Brighton – from the East Sussex County Council border to Coldean Lane at Old Boat Corner

2. Coldean Lane – from the junction with Ditchling Road (Old Boat Corner) to the junction with Forest Road

3. Coldean Lane – Southbound only, from the junction with Forest Road to the junction with the north curb of Park Road

4. Kingswood Street – at the junction with Grand Parade

5. Richmond Parade – at the junction with Grand Parade

6. No left turns
From Grand Parade to Edward Street
From Old Steine ​​into Marine Parade at the Aquarium Roundabout

7. Prohibition of right turns
From Ditchling Road to Coldean Lane

8. Temporary reversal of traffic flow
Coldean Lane – northbound carriageway from its junction with Forest Road to its junction with the north curb of Park Road. Traffic flow is diverted from north to south only
