Cyclist (60) killed in collision with lorry in Kildare

A cyclist in his 60s died just after 8am this morning after a collision with a truck in Clane, County Kildare, according to the Gardaí.

ardaí in Naas are now asking for witnesses after the fatal traffic accident.

A spokesman said: “Around 8.15am, gardaí and emergency services were alerted to the collision between a cyclist and a tractor-trailer truck on Millicent Road in Clane.

“The pedal cyclist, a man in his 60s, was fatally injured in the collision. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the morgue at Naas General Hospital.”

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have completed a technical investigation of the crime scene and Millicent Road has now reopened.

The Gardaí investigation is appealing to anyone who witnessed this collision to get in touch. All road users who were in the area between 8am and 8.30am this morning and who may have a camera, including dash cam footage, are asked to provide it to Gardaí.
