Cyclists (50s) seriously injured in collision at Wexford

Gardaí are asking for witnesses following a serious road accident in Co Wexford which seriously injured a male cyclist (50 years old).

At around 5.45pm on Wednesday, gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision between a van and the cyclist on the N25 in Holmestown.

“The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to Wexford General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are believed to be serious. No other injuries were reported,” a Garda spokesman said.

“The scene was preserved for a technical investigation, which has since been completed. The road was closed for a while but has since reopened.”

Gardaí appealed to all witnesses to the collision to come forward.

They are also appealing to road users who were traveling on the N25 in the Holmestown area between 5:30pm and 6:00pm last night and have camera footage, including dashcam, to make it available to them.
