Cyprus eases Covid travel rules for Brits from today

CYPRUS has relaxed its travel rules for Britons, including Covid tests on arrival for unvaccinated holidaymakers.

As of today, the country no longer requires travelers to have a degree Cyprus flight pass within 48 hours of arrival.

It has also eliminated on-arrival testing for unvaccinated holidaymakers, although they still must provide a negative PCR test within 72 hours of travel or a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of travel.

The new changes mean vaccinated Britons over the age of 12 can holiday in the country with no entry requirements.

Children arriving in Cyprus before their 12th birthday are also exempt from pre-arrival testing.

Cyprus will accept proof from the UK of COVID-19 vaccination with the final vaccination dose required at least 14 days prior to travel.

Travelers aged 18 and over are only considered fully vaccinated if less than 9 months have elapsed since the last dose.

Individuals between the ages of 12 and 18 are considered complete when they have received the 2nd dose in the case of a two-dose vaccine or the 1st dose in the case of a single-dose vaccine.

However, visitors can still get measured at the airport terminal entrance and mask wearing is mandatory in all areas of the airport.

Holidaymakers heading to Greece this summer have also received a boost after the country confirmed most of their trips Covid restrictions will be lifted.

From May 1, people will no longer need to present a coronavirus vaccination card to enter bars, restaurants and other attractions.

Wearing masks indoors will no longer be mandatory from June 1, with more details on venues that still require them.

All measures are to be re-evaluated after the high season in September.

Greek Health Minister Thanos Plevris confirmed the change in Covid restrictions for Britons planning to visit the country this summer, but said lifting entry restrictions was being considered.

Tourists visiting Greece from the UK must still present a valid vaccination, recovery or test certificate to enter the country.
