Dáithí Ó Sé has commended the kindness of a stranger who picked him up at the curb this morning after his car broke down.
The Kerry man’s day got off to a terrible start after his car broke down in Aughrim and he was forced to hitchhike to Ballinasloe station.
Ó Sé entertained his followers by sharing a series of updates on social media detailing his adventure on his way to RTÉ studios.
“My day so far… Car broke… Hitchhiked. The lovely man named Pat picked me up at the curb at 6.40am and was kind enough to take me to Ballinasloe train station. I’m going by train now. It’s a beautiful day. Keep singing,” he said.
The TV presenter even played the lottery before catching his train to see if his luck would change.
Ó Sé ended up taking the train to Heuston station and was met by a colleague at RTÉ.
The 46-year-old blamed his car troubles on a Galway air freshener that his son Micheal Og, 8, left in his car when the county faced the kingdom in next week’s All-Ireland Football Final.
“Could be why the car broke down… Just saying,” he joked.
The RTEs today The presenter celebrated his 10th anniversary with his wife Rita on Tuesday.
The couple married in 2012 after meeting on The Rose Of Tralee.
He marked the special occasion by sharing a sweet snap of the couple from their wedding day.
In the image he shared in his Stories, Dáithí and Rita kissed in front of a crowd outside the church where they got married.
