Star Napoleon Dynamite, who was best known for playing Farmer Lyle in the 2004 hit movie, has died aged 92

Napoleon Dynamite star Dale Critchlow has passed away.
He is known for his role as Farmer Lyle in the 2004 hit film directed by Jared Hess.
Dale died at the age of 92 on Friday at the Morning Star Senior Living facility in Idaho Falls, Idaho, his family told the local newspaper. Citizens of Preston.
He was not known as an actor until his role in Napoleon Dynamite – starring Jon Heder, Efren Ramirez and Tina Majorino.
He also appeared in Kurt Hale’s 2006 comedy, Church Bell.
A memorable scene where Dale’s character shoots a cow in the face just as a convoy of buses pulls in.

He also acts as a servant at Kip and LaFawnduh’s wedding and gives them some sage advice.
“When an argument breaks out, if you go out and have a nice walk, you’ll calm down and you can come back, and it won’t be an argument,” he said.
“And you’ll find that it helps your health, all that fresh air and exercise will do for you.”
He got the role after he needed director Hess’ family to help him wrap some sheep.
“My wife called Jared Hess’ mom and asked if one of her boys was there,” he said. told East Idaho News.
“He came, and he had a friend with him. I drove the truck out to the pasture, and the sheep ran up. They grabbed those trucks and pushed them onto the trucks.”
He continued, “And then he turned around and said, ‘I need a player,’ and I said, ‘Sure – when?’ He said, ‘I want you to be in my movie.’
But the Utah native didn’t rate the film overall, saying: “I think it’s a bit funny in some places, and in a few places, it’s a bit pulled. He’s done a pretty good job.”
After the movie came out, Dale became a local celebrity and was often photographed and autographed.
“I went to a wedding reception in Salt Lake, and my eldest son was just waiting for the reception to start,” he said.
“This guy comes in and says, ‘Hey, I saw you at a gig!’ He took some pictures.”
A funeral will be held on March 4 in Preston, Idaho.
Napoleon Dynamite was released in 2004 and saw Jon Heder play Napoleon, a teenager with no clear purpose in life.
