Dame Helen Mirren celebrates the Screen Actors Guild’s stunning win with showbiz friends

Acting Queen Dame Helen Mirren was the star of the show as she celebrated her lifetime achievement award at the Screen Actors Guild ceremony with a host of famous faces

Dame Helen Mirren was the star of the spotlight at the Screen Actors Guild ceremony as Hollywood beauties lined up to help celebrate her lifetime achievement award.
In a hilarious speech, the Oscar-winning actress, 76, attributed her career success to her mantra “come on time and don’t be the bad guy”.
The 28th ceremony, which took place on Sunday in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, after being held as a virtual event last year.
Dame Helen was introduced by Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett, who described her as a “royal actress”.
“Lifetime achievement, sounds great. I suppose I’m alive so by that measure I qualify,” she joked.
“Thank you, SAG, I hate to say the word sags at my age.”

With 13 SAG nominations and five wins, she’s SAG’s most lifetime recipients of achievements.
Dame Helen thanks her “rogues and vagabonds” actors.
“In my experience, now is significant… we love and admire each other’s work.
“To laugh together, cry together, worry together, change clothes, hangover and have diarrhea… right? I mean I do.

Her cryptic speech sent cheers from audiences, including Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, while Lady Gaga, 35, sobbed with emotion as they chatted.
Other A-listers who came to congratulate Dame Helen included Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Will Smith and Succession stars Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong.
