Dame Joan Collins says a rock-hard block of bread was thrown at her head by an aggressive and drunk fan while dining with a friend in a “vicious” and unprovoked attack.

The 88-year-old was visiting the Chelsea Arts Club, where a close friend was celebrating his birthday, when a drunk woman approached the dynasty icon.

The fan reportedly “swayed around” and attempted to approach Dame Joan before being asked to return to her own table elsewhere in the private members’ club.

But far from calming down, the woman reportedly grabbed a nearby bun and threw it straight at screen icon Dame Joan.

The actress herself narrated the incident to the daily mail – who described the incident as “vicious” – and explained: “A drunk diner who inappropriately wanted to sit with us got angry and threw a hard bun at me and she didn’t even have the decency to do it with the butter.”

“It was a private birthday dinner for a friend, my former PR Stella Wilson.”

Meanwhile, Stella confirmed the story to the outlet, adding, “Joan was understandably upset. Nobody likes to be thrown at something… thank god it was just a bun. That was the scary part.”

The Mail reports that the diner was then kicked out of the private members’ club – while the membership of the member she was with, believed to be a lord, was suspended.

The incident in question is said to have occurred “early this year”.

Membership of the Chelsea Arts Club is by application and recommendation of existing members – with membership costs up to £650 per year.

The club was founded in 1890 and has been in its current location on Old Church Street since 1902 – in a Grade I listed building which is on the National Heritage List for England.

Away from the bread-based drama, Dame Joan recently celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary with husband number five, Percy Gibson.

The actress and the 57-year-old businessman shared secrets of their successful love life.

Joan told the Mirror: “Our ideal date nights are eating caviar on a baked potato in front of the TV and watching Gogglebox! I would like to be on Gogglebox. We would be fantastic.”

Percy said, “We go out to dinner, but generally we like to see a good movie or TV show.”

Sharing tips on making a romance successful, Joan said, “We give each other space. He has his own dressing room, bathroom and office.”

While Percy confessed: “She gets sick of me! For example, if I snore… I will know! “Honey, it’s 5 am – you snore!” Joan is doing nothing wrong. I never get angry at what she does.”
