Dan Walker spoke on behalf of his BBC Breakfast co-stars as they discussed Deborah James’ battle with cancer on today’s show.
The presenter comforted her co-star Sally Nugent as she was touched by Deborah’s admission that her body “didn’t play ball” as she battled bowel cancer. The duo discussed Deborah’s heartbreaking admission on today’s show, as the BBC podcast star admitted she wasn’t sure how long she’d been gone.
Deborah has spent the past five years raising awareness about bowel cancer and how to spot the symptoms, but since then she’s told her fans and friends on Instagram that her body can’t. can fight anymore.
Speaking on today’s show, Dan said: “Many of you will know Deborah James by now. She’s the presenter of the You, Me and Big C podcast and she’s also been on the show. We’ve been lucky enough to have her not only on the sofa, but during the pandemic, we’ve talked to her many times, haven’t we?”
As Sally later added: “Sadly, Deborah – who was diagnosed with bowel cancer 5 years ago – shared a message on her Instagram account yesterday that she is now gone. was moved to hospice care. Dan later revealed that Deborah had set up a foundation to raise money for cancer research.
“She includes links to some of the charities closer to her, including Cancer Research UK, Royal Marsden Cancer Charity and Bowel Cancer UK. And got a lot of money, wasn’t there, donated?

In the sad post, Deborah said she is receiving hospice care.

“Please buy me a glass of wine to meet me and raise important funds.”
