DANCING On Ice star Bez hit the ice so hard that his helmet “flyed off”.
Presenter Phillip Schofield revealed the nightmare ahead of Sunday’s premiere as he talked about the dangers inexperienced celebrities face.
He admitted the Happy Mondays dancer scared his co-stars when he fell back during a rehearsal with professional dance partner Angela Egan.
“You have a rink that’s basically full of blades and we know how dangerous they can be and how deep and sharp they can cut,” says Phil. I just watched a video of Bez on day two, he fell backwards so hard that his helmet fell off.
“It’s one of those things but you don’t see that on Serious.
“Dancing On Ice is really dangerous. They all really risked everything for it. We’ve seen in the past that everyone gets hurt and of course you want to avoid that at all costs. I think we’ll definitely wrap Bez in bubble wrap. ”
Dancing on Ice is back in theaters this weekend and leading bookie Coral makes former pro Brendan Cole a 3-1 favorite to crown the series winner.
Liberty Poole is the favorite in second place 4-1, while the other top contenders by Coral’s odds are Regan Gascoigne (5-1) and Kimberley Wyatt (6-1).
Meanwhile, Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor said she wanted to be “an inspiration for older women” when she appeared on the show.
The 58-year-old actress, known to viewers for her role as the aspiring Sally Webster in the ITV series, said she still feels 21 years old and wants to take advantage of “every opportunity” she gets.
She said: “I hope to be an inspiration to older women. If you have any chance to do anything, just do it. I still feel like I’m 21, no right 58, so I just think you have to take every opportunity.
“Now that my kids are grown, it’s much easier. I’m a good mom but I just feel like this is my moment.”
Off-screen, Dynevor is married to Emmerdale screenwriter Tim Dynevor and is pursued by her daughter Phoebe, 26, star of the Netflix series Bridgerton.
She said she hopes the public will see her in a different light.
She said: “I think the public will really enjoy seeing me dress differently, so the glitz and glamor will be really interesting. I look forward to that.”
Talking about her character on Corrie, whom she has played since 1986, Dynevor said: “I like the idea of people seeing me for who I am after all these years.
“I’m pretty discreet and I’m not very good with my head on the railing so this, for me, is huge.
“It scares me a bit because I’m so used to hiding behind a character and just being part of Coronation Road but it would be nice to have people see me as I am and not my character. .”
Dancing On Ice premieres Sunday, January 16 at 18:30.
