Dancing on Ice: Torvill and Dean provide information about Connor
Dancing On Ice judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean have updated fans on Connor Ball’s health following a nasty fall over the weekend.
The Vamps star managed to slit his shin with a blade after a horror fall during Sunday’s ITV live show, but like a soldier he got back up and continued his Pirates of the Caribbean skate.
Connor – who works with professional skater Alexandra Schauman on the ITV show – managed to cut his own leg, causing it to bleed, as concerned hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby checked he was alright.
And Torvill and Dean, who appeared on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch today, gave an update on Connor following his injury.

When asked if anyone surprised her on this series, Chris replied, “I think Connor is a surprise because our other top celebrities all come from dance backgrounds and Connor is a guitarist so not that much.
“He’s really risen, he’s outstanding – he’s our dark horse.”
Jayne added: “As Chris said, Connor has been getting better and better every week but unfortunately he’s had a couple of falls lately. He managed to kick his shin last week, he had stitches in his leg. But he carried on.”

“He’s like a patchwork quilt right now,” interjected Chris, to add, before Jane continued, “After falling in the routine, he jumped up and kept going. He was probably in a lot of pain, but he’s very determined.”
After Sunday’s fall, Connor and Alex headed out to chat with the show’s hosts.
“We’re disappointed in you,” Phillip told him, addressing the fall before adding: “But first of all, are you alright?”
“I don’t want to look up what’s going on down here,” Connor admitted when Alexandra confirmed: “It’s bleeding!”

“The blade went into my leg, so I don’t know if something was cut open,” Connor added while trying to catch his breath.
Connor later took to social media to insist to fans that he was fine despite his injury.
He tweeted: “Guys I’m fine, I’m getting stitches on my leg right now but thanks for calling me through again. You guys are really amazing, I’m too lucky to be honest.”
He also shared a snap of his injured leg after having stitches to say he was making good progress.
