Daniel Craig learned a painful lesson on his first day playing James Bond

Although some actors may hesitate to film such daring stunts on their own, Empire revealed that Craig himself actually did a substantial part of the parkour – and paid a heavy price for it. When talking about the pain he suffered on set, Craig told Empire, “I learned from day one that it hurts… and the whole movie really hurts. But if I got hurt, the stunts hurt ten times more than me. I just had to suck it up and get on with it.”

Unfortunately, the pain on set is not trivial. Craig said that some of the stunts felt as though he was “being hit in the head and neck with a stick.” He even told Empire that he managed to remove a tooth hat on set, then continued filming for the rest of the day. While this is probably not the kind of excitement the actor expected when he signed on to play James Bond, it was in a way, of course – on Roger’s first day as James Bond. Moore, he crashed a boat and landed himself in the hospital. Despite that, one thing is for sure: Craig’s commitment to overcoming grief has certainly proven that he’s ready to give the role of James Bond his best.
