Daniel Craig said he hopes his character Benoit Blanc remains a mystery in the Knives Out series.
The highly-anticipated sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery sees Craig, 54, take on the role of elegant detective and travel to Greece to unravel layers of mystery involving a New group of colorful suspects.
The all-star cast includes Kate Hudson, Edward Norton, Dave Bautista, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn and Leslie Odom Jr, and is directed by Rian Johnson.
Asked by PA news agency if there will be more details about Blanc in the upcoming Netflix series, Craig said: “I think we might see very, very little glimpse, but I do. would love to hope that he remains a bit of a mystery.
“I really don’t want a backstory or something like… maybe one day we’ll think about that. But I just feel it has nothing to do with the movie.
“I think it was important that he kept us… that we weren’t sure who he really was. Curious, he is. Curious and excited about the world. And that’s what he is.
During the film’s premiere press conference, the Fight Club actor Norton said Craig has more Blanc than his other famous role, James Bond.
Norton, 53, added: “Daniel, I think he made me very comfortable with the idea that he would go wherever you wanted.
“And that’s great, because, you know, you don’t want to piss off James Bond.”
Kathryn Hahn, known for her roles in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Bad Moms, also said she was “knuckled down” by Craig’s physical comedy.
The 49-year-old actress added: “It’s like his use of, for example, control of his body and, like the way he throws himself into this part physically is something that I’m very excited to see. to watch. “
The Knives Out sequel also includes a posthumous appearance by Stephen Sondheim, who created musicals including Sweeney Todd and died last November.
