Daniel Kinahan and his crime teammate Thomas ‘Bomber’ Kavanagh have been designated as responders in a Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) case being carried out against millionaire businessman Jim Mansfield Jnr.
Ansfield’s elderly mother, Anne, and his brother, PJ, are also among those sued in the lawsuit against her son, which is understood to focus on a luxury home and a large sum of money.
Judge Michael McGrath of the Supreme Court sitting in Cork was told by CAB attorney Shelley Horan that officers are now looking for an address for Kinahan, the so-called first respondent, in Dubai so they can be brought in. reach him in connection with the case.
She said they were currently ‘intelligence gathering’ and would apply to the UAE to serve him in that jurisdiction.
Ms Horan BL said that the Bureau will also be in contact with their UK counterparts about the service of Kavanagh, who is currently in prison in Norwich, UK.
She said that CAB officers tried to serve Jim Mansfield Jnr at his current residence in Portlaoise Prison but he told them to deal with his attorney Barry Creed.
His brother PJ and elderly mother Anne told the officers the same as they tried to serve them, the court heard.
The case has been adjourned until April when the court will hear a further update on the situation.
Exiled Kinahan and Kavanagh, who are due to be convicted of serious organized crime in the UK later this month, are the two most high-profile criminals to have directed mobs in Ireland over the past two decades.
Mansfield Jnr was supposed to inherit his father’s massive fortune empire before the family business collapsed, owing the bank more than 200 million euros.

Daniel Kinahan became one of the biggest drug dealers in Europe when he took over his father’s business around 2014 while Thomas ‘Bomber’ Kavanagh ran the Irish Kinahan mafia in the United Kingdom.
Kinahan currently lives in Dubai while Kavanagh is behind bars in the UK facing a long sentence after pleading guilty to drug and money laundering charges.
