David Beckham fears his stalker “will do next” after she wrote “threatening” letters and went to his home, a court heard.
The former Manchester United and England star, 47, was targeted by Sharon Bell, 58, between July and November last year.
Westminster Magistrates Court heard how she sent the letter before visiting the homes in Oxfordshire and west London of the footballer and his wife, former Spice Girls singer and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, 48 .
“It makes me nervous about what she will do next,” former Real Madrid, PSG, AC Milan and LA Galaxy midfielder Beckham said in a statement read by prosecutor Arizuna Asante.
Bell sent a handwritten letter to the Beckham home in Oxfordshire on 5 July last year telling him she planned to attend the property a few days later.
Victoria owes me some money, David, because she says she’s been robbing my bank account for years, which isn’t very nice. I would appreciate it if she wasn’t thereSharon Bell, in a letter to David Beckham
“I got your address from a detective agency, I hope you don’t mind. I have feelings for you, David,” it read.
“Victoria owes me some money, David, because she said she robbed my bank account for years, which is not very nice. I would be grateful if she wasn’t there.”
The court said Bell was “obstinate” when she arrived at the property on July 9 but left after being told by security it was the wrong address.
Another letter was sent to the Beckham home in Holland Park before Bell showed up on September 9.
“Please stay there, or someone will come out and say you both have my roll number. Now that wouldn’t be good, would it, since you already have an OBE,” the letter reads.
“You said if I write to you first and I don’t have a weapon (which I would) I can come in and talk and have tea (Earl Gray is my favorite). I’d love to talk to you, can you come in and talk for a bit? “
The letter also refers to the home of TV presenter Richard Madeley, and says: “I will have no opinion on you.

I feel like the wording in the letter is escalating and becoming more emotional and threatening to me and my family and this worries me. The letters became more and more threatening and it was clear that the girl knew where I livedDavid Beckham
“I just wanted to talk to you. You owe it to me, David (I wanted to be with you when you had brain surgery to give you some new brain cells) and your friend Tom Cruise really did. I’m upset, David.
“He did some terrible things to me.”
In a third letter sent in October, Bell said: “I love you and have loved each other since we were kids.”
Beckham said he had never met Bell and spoke of his anxiety about her “escalating” behavior, which he felt was becoming “erratic and unpredictable”.
“I feel like the language in the letter is escalating and becoming more emotional and threatening to me and my family and this worries me,” he said.
“The letters became increasingly threatening and it was clear the girl knew where I lived.”
Bell, of Boundary Way, Watford, was charged with stalking but did not face criminal trial because she suffered from a mental disorder.
District Judge Michael Snow said he was pleased she had committed the offense and ordered the arrest of Bell, who appeared in court by video link, under the Mental Health Act.
He mentioned the “quite scary thought” as she researched Beckham’s address and the “cold words” used in her letters.
“He became fearful for the safety of his family, worried about what Miss Bell might do next,” the judge added.
