David Bowie seen in rare teen photos as old friends of the band pay their respects on the sixth anniversary of his death

DAVID Bowie is seen in rare early photos as his old bandmates pay their respects on his sixth anniversary today.
Survivors of The Konrads recounted how he joined the band in 1963 at the age of 16.
Great moments from that year show Bowie, then known as David Jay, holding a saxophone.
He joined after guitarist Alan Dodds placed an advertisement in a music store in Bromley, South London.
Alan, 75, later a pastor, said: “We knew he had great aspirations and was a great talent. He was destined to go on to bigger and better things.”
One night, David took on the lead vocals when Roger Ferris, now 67, ran over the glass before a gig at Blackheath.
Roger told The Sun: “I like to think that, thanks to my accident, I gave Bowie a great time.”
Stella Gall, 78, is supporting the singer with Ms. Christine, who passed away in 2006. She said: “It’s a wonderful thing to say that I played with him.”
Bowie left shortly after and joined several other bands.
