A DOUBLE killer who sexually abused dead bodies in hospital cadavers appeared in court today after being charged with a further 16 sex offenses at a morgue.
David Fuller was sentenced to two life terms in December for killing Wendy Knell, 25, and Caroline Pierce, 20, in separate 1987 attacks in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
The 68-year-old also filmed himself abusing corpses, including a nine-year-old girl, two 16-year-olds and a 100-year-old woman, over 12 years before his arrest in December 2020.
He was sentenced to 12 years’ concurrent prison terms between 2008 and 2020 for sex offenses against 78 dead women in morgues at Tunbridge Wells Hospital and the former Kent and Sussex Hospital.
After a continued investigation by detectives, it was revealed this week that he had been charged with other offenses involving 23 other victims – all deceased women – between 2007 and 2020.
As a result, 13 of these victims have been officially identified, while the identities of 10 remain unknown.
On Tuesday, Fuller, of Heathfield, was charged with 10 felonies related to identified victims and two related to three unidentified victims.
He was also charged with two felonies related to possession of “extreme pornography” related to 13 identified victims, as well as two other pornography charges related to 10 unidentified victims.
At Medway Magistrates’ Court today, Fuller appeared via video link from HMP Frankland, County Durham.
During his court appearance this morning, Fuller, wearing a light gray sweater, did not contest any of the offenses he was charged with.
District Judge Stephen Leake sent the case to Maidstone Crown Court for consideration, and Fuller is expected to appear there on November 3.
