David Gilmour’s Hove home is still up for sale for £15m

A stunning oceanfront home owned by a rock and roll icon is still for sale.

David Gilmour’s mansion in King’s Esplanade, Hove, was completed just two years ago but went on sale for £15million last month.

Considered one of the most expensive properties in the city, it offers views of the English Channel, a state-of-the-art recording studio and log and gas fireplaces.

Planning permission to demolish the original building, an 1894 bathhouse, was granted in 2017 after the building was found to be beyond repair.

David and his wife Polly Samson listed the home with real estate agent Pereds, who have a history of flogging huge lots in coveted locations.

There is a cottage attached to the house and private parking for up to seven cars.

In an ad, the couple said: “The master bedroom with sea views in all directions is a beautiful spot to watch the sun rise and set over the sea.

“At night it’s exhilarating to watch the moon reflect off the water from your bed.

“It is a huge advantage that there is no busy road or traffic between us and the sea.

“We love the drama of winter storms over the water.”
