Dawn French has revealed doctors were worried she might have a brain tumor after she became unwell during her 2014 indie tour.

Thankfully, the actress, 64, is tumor-free, but she describes what it feels like to have her head “fall inward” during her illness.

It turned out that she had suffered from dizziness during her 30 Minutes tour and she was forced to use a cane on stage for fear of falling on set.

She explained how scared she was by the condition and confessed that it was triggered by the harsh lights on the stage.

Dawn opened up about her experience on Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers podcast on BBC and revealed: “It was like my skull was a room and the whole top part collapsed inward, and everything started spinning.

“It was like being very drunk and not understanding what was going up and what was going down. And for a while they thought I might have a brain tumor.”

She went on to describe how neuroscientists informed her that the lighting above the stage was the cause of the problem, saying that the darkness in front of her meant she had nothing to close her eyes to. .

The stage she performed on was sloping down towards the crowd, which meant her body didn’t feel as if it were standing upright and made her condition worse.

The Vicar of Dibley actress continued: “I take a cane on stage and I’ll keep my feet wide on the stage and I’ll put the stick in front of me like a tripod so I have something to stand up.

“It was like being on a windsurfing boat or something. It was horrible, absolutely horrible.”

She was given Beta-blockers to ease her fear of toppling the deer and revealed it made the situation worse.

Thankfully, the condition went away a few weeks after she completed the tour, but she still fears whether it will return.

“When you ask me if I’m nervous, I’m in a good nerve about the show, I’m not very nervous about restarting again because if it boots I know I’m in hell, hug the walls,” she said. speak.
