TV personality Dawn Ward, who is married to former Premier League footballer Ashley Ward, broke down on the witness stand and claimed she never watched a race
Real Housewives of Cheshire star Dawn Ward wept as she was cleared of racial abuse by two Jewish men and possession of cocaine, describing the ordeal as “three years of hell”.
The reality star cried at the sentencing hearing, telling the jury: “Thank you. Thank you so much, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
The 48-year-old, who is married to former Premier League footballer Ashley Ward, was accused of swearing at brothers Jake and Sam Jacobs at London’s Euston Station back in October 2019.
The Jacob brothers are said to have asked customer service why the trains were late when the 48-year-old reality star allegedly approached them drunk and said: “Why do you keep complaining?”
She also reportedly called the couple “Jewish C****” and said Samantha Eisner, one of the brothers’ friends, was a “little illness.”
Ward answered no and was acquitted by the jury today on two counts of aggravated racial harassment and one count of cocaine possession.
During the Inner London Crown Court trial, which was sitting in the Royal Courts of Justice, Ward denied she was racist and said she “sees people as people”.
Her attorney, Lisa Judge, suggested the group fabricated the “publicity” allegations and insulted Ward for her “Botox face and wealth.”
Giving evidence, Jake Jacobs replied, “I didn’t know who she was. I can tell you Mrs Ward was very, very drunk. I haven’t seen botox, I certainly haven’t seen riches.”
“I don’t even know what botox does. I thought it had to do with wrinkles. How can Botox go wrong?”
During the defense, Ward told the jury, “Jake Jacobs raised his voice to the customer service lady.
“I stupidly stuck my nose in it and was like, ‘Fuck it, leave her alone, it’s not her fault, we’re all in the same boat.’
“I should have just stuck my nose out. To be honest, I had no idea what religion he belonged to. It didn’t even occur to me. He was talking about my botox face and throwing insults.
“He referenced things about the show and said, ‘You think it’s you.’ He said: ‘What gives you the right to tell me what to do, who do you think you are? ‘ and he mentioned my wealth.”
Jake Jacobs also accused her of hitting him in the face with an “open palm” during the incident.

But during her testimony, the reality star made a patting gesture on the underside of her jaw to indicate how she’d touched Jake Jacobs and said she told him, “At least I’m going home first class.”
The reality star also told jurors she had “no idea” there was cocaine in her pack of cigarettes – and claimed the pack was placed in her purse by her housekeeper.
She said: “I do a lot of fundraisers at the house, a lot of parties throughout the year. When the parties are over, my housekeepers put away all the cigarettes and stuff them into oven mitts as they clean up.
“I would only ever have one cigarette when I go to London. Then I might have a cigarette with a glass of wine. I didn’t actually have any that day.
“When I left my house I said you can throw us a pack of cigarettes out of the drawer.”
Outside the court, Ward said she was “overjoyed and relieved” at the verdicts.
She said: “It’s been three years of absolute hell. My husband has been a massive support. My legal team, Lisa Judge and Mark Haslam, have been incredible.
“I decided to take it to the Crown Court because I was so afraid of the seriousness of the charges. I was very concerned as it was such a serious allegation.
“I am eternally grateful to the jury that I felt they were so fair after a week of listening to everything. We were so lucky to get a jury who thought I was telling the truth.
“I want to go home now and be with my kids and move on with the rest of my life.”
