DCC reports strong growth in the first quarter

The international sales and marketing group DCC has reported strong growth for the first quarter of its financial year.

According to DCC, the group’s operating result was in line with expectations and significantly higher than in the previous year. This growth was supported by the DCC Energy division.

Trading in DCC Healthcare was in line with expectations, while DCC Technology benefited from contributions from US home appliances retailer Almo.

Almo was acquired by DCC last December.

DCC expects earnings growth and development for the remainder of the fiscal year, although the company acknowledges the “currently challenging macro environment.”

For the year ended 31 March, DCC generated revenue of £17.7 billion on adjusted operating profit of £589.2 million.

The company also announced the appointment of Dr. Fabian Ziegler announced as the new CEO of DCC Energy. The energy division said it has also completed a number of new bolt-on acquisitions since May, including British group Protech last month.

Protech will add further energy solutions capacity for commercial customers in the UK, including renewable energy solutions, maintenance and other services.

DCC supplies LPG in Ireland under the FloGas brand. It also sells oil under the Emo brand.

The group currently operates in 21 countries in the energy, healthcare and technology sectors. It currently employs over 15,400 people.
