Dead Space Remake is getting an art design-focused livestream later this week

A new live stream from EA and motive will air later this week and will focus on the artistic design of the Dead Space remake.

The live stream will take place next Thursday 12th May at 18:00 BST where viewers can tune in via Dead Space’s YouTube channel or Motive’s Twitch channel. It will primarily focus on the art design of the upcoming remake, where the Motive team will be showing early footage showing how it uses the Frostbite engine and next generation hardware and PCs to recreate the environments and characters of the original Dead Space Evolve and redesign visually, VFX, lighting and more.

The remake of the 2008 horror game, announced last July during EA Play Live 2021 (and leaked more or less a month before), is said to be a new-gen exclusive game, ie only for PS5, Xbox Series X /S and PC. So far, all of the gameplay we’ve seen from it is early development material, a unique tactic in the gaming industry.

Most developers seem reluctant to let viewers see behind the scenes, but Motive has been very transparent about its development process. This upcoming live stream probably won’t be any different, although it focuses on the game’s art design, it may show a little less gameplay than previous streams.

Despite being a remake of the original title, there will be some differences with this new version of the game. For one thing, Isaac Clarke, the game’s protagonist, will speak in this installment, although apparently only when spoken to and in situations where it makes sense. Isaac was voiced in later games, and voice actor Gunner Wright will reprise the role.

And depending on the weapon you use to dismember a Necromorph, the enemy aliens will be affected in different ways, with more detail in the dismemberments as well. Dead Space Remake is getting an art design-focused livestream later this week
