THE mystery behind a viral clip of a strange voice whispering about ‘irreversible death’ during ITV’s coverage of the Queen’s funeral has been solved.
The 21-second clip of the Queen’s coffin en route between Westminster Abbey and St George’s Chapel in Windsor has been viewed over 1.5 million times on Twitter.
The aerial footage begins silently, but after a few seconds a hoarse female voice is heard whispering “that death is irreversible and the fact that it is…” before a male presenter speaks.
Social media users theorized that the last word heard from the woman was “captured” OR “travelling,” but the audio is difficult to understand as the clip is accompanied by a ringing noise.
The second voice cuts off again and then the male presenter says, “As you can see here in London it’s a beautiful day and as a hearse is heading into west London…”
Social media users were stunned by the clip and started sharing jokes and theories about it.

One wrote: “This is one of the weirdest things I’ve heard in a long time…”
Another joked: “Her death is irreversible! Who would have thought that?”
One added: “Whatever that is, I’m a truther now.”
While another, who shared a Princess Diana gif, simply said: “Spooky.”
Other social media users joked that the voice was a ghost or supernatural being, and many demanded an explanation.
Another Twitter user said, “Well, that’s… unnerving.”
While one added, “Why does this sound like those creepy ‘is that a voice’ recordings of haunted places?”
While ITV declined to comment on the clip, it is understood the audio was a guest from the channel, whose voice was captured by a presenter’s microphone.
