Death Stranding free giveaway crashes Epic Games Store

This year’s Christmas present on the Epic Games Store was so popular that the online storefront’s servers crashed.

The Epic Games Store is giving away a free PC game every day for the holidays. The promotion lasts until the end of the month.

However, the game given away on Christmas Day is usually very special and 2022 was no different.

This year’s holiday game was the critically acclaimed Death Stranding, a game by Hideo Kojima that has won numerous awards.

It’s also extremely popular with fans as people wanted to see what Hideo Kojima would create apart from publisher and developer Konami.

The original version of Death Stranding is the one currently available on the Epic Games Store.

However, it appears that the updated and improved Director’s Cut was the version originally available, possibly in error.

This version was active for about 90 minutes before the server crashed due to the many people trying to download the game.

The shop was down for a few hours while technicians tried to fix the problem, and now it’s back online.

This means anyone with an Epic account can now visit the site and grab their copy of Death Stranding.

The store page is still displaying a little slower than normal, possibly still due to a high number of people trying to purchase the game.

However, there are no signs of future problems for the site, such as: B. Crashes.

Death Stranding is available to download from the Epic Games Store until 4pm UK time, which means you still have a few hours to pick up a copy.

Some highly recommended games have already been given away as part of the campaign.

Lego Builders, Wolfenstein: The New Order and Fallout Tactics were all free to download for 24 hours.

However, this is the only time the site has gone down during this year’s giveaway, showing high demand for Death Stranding.
