Deborah revealed she enjoyed an afternoon of “tea and champagne” with the Duke of Cambridge and her family in south London.
Describing the experience as “surreal,” she told her 630,000 followers that “the kind” William “made everyone feel comfortable.”
Deborah wrote: “He is clearly passionate about improving oncology outcomes as President of the Royal Marsden.
“It was such a special day for my whole family to create memories that will last a lifetime. He’s always welcome back!”
Readers from across the country have contributed millions of pounds to her BowelBabe fund, which she launched on Monday to support research into the disease.
In response to the milestone, Deborah wrote: “Words fail us. All of this is simply beyond anything we could have ever imagined.”
She wrote on Instagram: “The last 5 days have been surreal. Thank you for putting a huge smile on my face and helping us launch a legacy that will hopefully impact a lifetime of cutting-edge cancer care.
“Thanks to an incredibly generous donation earlier today and every single person who has donated to the @bowelbabefund, we’ve just reached the incredible sum of £5million.”
Deborah also said she was overwhelmed to receive a damehood because she captured the heart of the nation with her honest accounts of cancer.
Earlier today, she shared our front page breaking the news, writing: “I’m humbled and blown away that five years of talking about poo can lead to a damehood!
“I’m honored and shocked that I was even considered.”
Her Majesty the Queen is reported to have been said separately to be “delighted” to make Deborah a lady.
Boxers Anthony Joshua, 32, and David Beckham, 47, were also among those paying tribute to her after the award.
Deborah heartbreakingly announced Monday that she was transferred to a hospice home.
The mother of two was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer just days before Christmas 2016.
