That fighting spirit and skill was perfectly embodied towards the end of the game as they attempted to pull down the clock. Arsenal resorted to some tactics to halt West Ham’s momentum when Eddie Nketiah came up short of an Aaron Creswell free-kick late in the game.

This prompted an angry reaction from the West Ham defender, who grabbed Nketiah’s shirt, leading to a scuffle involving almost every player on the pitch as both goalkeepers charged out. Eventually the players were separated and distributed before Nketiah was booked, but Declan Rice wanted more.
He went to Nketiah, who was ready to stand his ground. This prompted Rice to yell “mouth shut” at the Arsenal forward football.london.
It was like water off a duck’s back for Nketiah as Rice wasted only his own side’s time, allowing the forward to keep hitting back at his former side Chelsea teammate.
Nketiah knew exactly what he was doing and deftly drew the line between turning down the clock and risking being sent off – a sort of veteran move the Gunners wouldn’t have attempted last season.
