A man, 30, was charged in connection with a shooting in the Clondalkin area last week and is due to appear in court this morning.
It comes as gardaí opened an investigation into the “discharge of a firearm” that took place in the Clondalkin area on Friday evening, April 8.
The incident, which took place in Cherrywood Grove, is said to have happened around 5 p.m.
A man in his 20s was later taken to Tallaght hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí confirmed this morning that a man aged 30 has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting.
“He is scheduled to appear in the criminal courts at 10:30 this morning, Saturday 16 April 2022,” Gardaí said in a statement.
Separately, Gardaí have arrested and charged a man in connection with “firearms and ammunition seizures” in north Dublin.
Gardaí seized a loaded machine gun, silencer and ammunition in the Finglas and Ballymun boroughs of Dublin as part of Operation Tara, an ongoing operation against drug trafficking.
Two people, including a woman in her 50s and a man in his 40s, were arrested and questioned at Ballymun Garda Station last night under Section 30 of the Offenses Against State Law Act.
The man, who was riding a bicycle, was stopped just after 11pm on Thursday while on a routine patrol by the Ballymun Garda Station Street Crime Unit as he was cycling in the Shangan Gardens area of Ballymun.
A loaded firearm was secured at the scene.
During a search carried out yesterday by drug squads Ballymun and Finglas, Gardaí searched a house in the Finglas area and seized a submachine gun, two loaded magazines, two silencers and a quantity of ammunition.
All of the confiscated items were sent for ballistics and forensic examination during the ongoing investigation, according to the Gardaí.
“The man, in his 40s, arrested in connection with the firearms seizure has been charged. He is scheduled to appear before the Criminal Courts (Court 2) this morning, Saturday 16 April 2022,” Gardaí said.
“The woman, in her 50s, arrested in connection with the seizure was released without charge. A file is now being prepared for the public prosecutor.”
