Kyiv-based STALKER 2 developer GSC Game World has defiantly stated that development of the game will continue following Ukraine’s victory over Russia in the ongoing war.
In a video uploaded to GSC’s YouTube channel entitled “Lights! Cam! Was…” the studio explained how its world had been turned upside down by the Russian invasion.
Captions in the video read: “For the past week we have been editing the video through our motion capture studio. We wanted to show how the cutscenes were created, so we took the time to watch the videos, write the scripts and talk to the actors. The past week was ages.”
“On February 24, Russia declared war on Ukraine and sent missiles, tanks and soldiers to our homeland. Our country has to fight again for its existence.
“Now we strive to help our employees and their families survive. Game development has gone sideways. But we will definitely continue. After the win. Glory to Ukraine.”
GSC has previously asked fans and industry for support, asking people to send funds to the Ukrainian army. It comes as many in the gaming industry have backed Ukraine after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of the country.
«Game play when?» is no longer the most common question. Now we hear “Are you alright?” more and more.https://t.co/E6yyzTwwSd

11 Bit Studios, GOG, Raw Fury, Bungie, CD Projekt Red, Beetlewing, Wargaming and other developers, publishers and gaming influencers have donated money to charities helping Ukrainian civilians and refugees.
Ukraine has also officially called on Xbox, PlayStation and “all game development companies” to temporarily stop supporting Russia and Belarus in an open letter from Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
