19 hours after a lorry overturned causing chaos last night, delays persist on the A259.
Traffic is still backed up on the A259 Newhaven Road in both directions near the stud farm.
Serious delays of 29 minutes are increasing from the eastbound road between Cairo Avenue and Mill Drove.
According to reports, the average vehicle speed is five miles per hour.
There are temporary traffic lights and emergency roadworks after a paved truck overturned last night.
A spokeswoman for East Sussexy Highways told The Argus: “The carriageway has run out of tarmac and now our teams are there to make it safe for motorists.”
