Churchlands, Delgany, County Wicklow
Asking price: from €585,000 Broker: Sherry FitzGerald (01) 6671888
Coffee is big business in the village of Delgany in Wicklow. For real lovers, there is Roasted Brown, a roastery founded by Ferg Brown in 2015. At this Delgany compound, caffeine magic happens when the experts marry science and senses to create a single-source coffee that can be delivered to your door.
If you don’t like the idea of making your own bean juice, there are plenty of options in the village. Bear Paw Deli serves coffee along with sandwiches like The Grizzly. For those who like their coffee on the go, The Fat Fox offers a drive-through service on Church Road. The Pigeon House has a take-away cabin for those who don’t want to eat dinner, and the ultimate challenge in the village is to leave the famous Firehouse Bakery with just a cup of coffee and don’t let the breads and pastries turn you away.
So those who are making a home in the area and can’t do without their caffeine fix might be interested to hear that a new section of Churchlands has been released. The previous phase was accessed via Delgany Glen but these newest homes will have an entrance adjacent to St Laurence’s National School, just off Chapel Road.
There are 12 houses in this Wood Group release. They are four bed mid-terrace types available from €585,000 and four bed end terraces from €610,000. PD Lane Architects worked with interior design consultant Eily Roe to select the best finishes and fittings for the homes.
With a floor area of up to 1,550 square feet, the homes are A2 certified and feature an air-to-water heat pump, a demand-controlled exhaust system and a high level of insulation throughout.
The kitchens are equipped and include most appliances. All bedrooms have wardrobes and the bathrooms are tiled and fitted with high pressure showers.
The earlier phase sold quickly as some owners wanted to spend their second Christmas in their new home. Agents for Sherry FitzGerald say there were many referrals from family and friends during the first phase, which is a good endorsement for the new neighborhood.
The houses in this phase should be ready by the summer. The four bed show home, the Bellevue, is open to view tomorrow from 12pm to 2pm with Sherry FitzGerald (01) 6671888.
