Denise Van Outen has detailed the horror back surgery she was forced to undergo after a horrific fall while competing on the Strictly Dancing stage.
The former EastEnders and Big Breakfast star, 47, appeared on ITV’s Lorraine to discuss her new memoir, which details the grisly surgery in which doctors were forced to remove it. Denise’s dialog to get access to her spine.
Sitting across from Denise on the ITV studio, host Lorraine Kelly said she knew about the fall with professional dancer James Jordan, but didn’t know it was “horrific”.
“The surgery they have to do is on your back – they have to go through your throat to get to your spine,” says Lorraine. It’s too bad.”

Denise said she kept the activity private because she loved the BBC’s dance competition and also because she was concerned her partner James might get “in trouble” because of the incident.
“I fell and fell and hit my head on my neck,” she said. “I had three slipped discs in my spinal cord and I did the last part of the serious dance with steroid injections. I don’t know how I got through it.”
Denise added: “I had a major surgery and they had to take my voice box out. They worried that I would never sing again, because you might get hoarse after such an operation.

“The rehabilitation has been going on for quite some time, but I keep it very secretive just because I am out there a lot and talk about things, there are certain things in my life that I want to keep private. I’m not looking for public sympathy, I just want to heal myself. ”
Denise and Jordan finished as runners-up in the Serious’s 2021 run, alongside Kimberley Walsh and Pasha Kovalev, behind winning pair Louis Smith and Flavia Cacace.
Denise concluded: “I am fine now. I have a small scar on my neck, so I’ve been asked quite a lot on TV what that scar is.”

In another twist in the interview, Denise spoke more about her experience being a victim of revenge porn at the age of 15.
The phone lover, 47, said she was filmed by an elderly man without her knowledge while they were having sex.
Denise made the devastating statement in her new autobiography A Bit Of Me and bravely decided to share the traumatic ordeal – which took place in the late 1980s – after witnessing a similar incident. involving two reality TV stars.
She spoke of the man in question – whom she referred to as ‘Mike’ in the book, although that was not his real name – who was questioned by police who discovered he had recorded dozens of girls.
