Dermot Kennedy was forced to issue a statement on Monday night confirming he would not be performing an impromptu gig in Limerick today after crowds gathered downtown.

inger Kennedy made the statement on Instagram after crowds flocked downtown in hopes of seeing an alleged live performance by the star.

However, Kennedy has confirmed to his social media followers that he is indeed in Dublin to rest for a while and any belief that he is performing in Limerick is based on rumours.

“For anyone in Limerick waiting for me to play on the street tonight, it’s just a rumor started by someone based on something.

“Please don’t waste your time as I am in Dublin in my spare time. Sorry for any frustration caused by whoever did it.

“To put it more clearly, I can’t wait to play for you in Thomond [Park] next summer!” Kennedy said in the statement.

The Power over me the singer added a third day to his Limerick performances next summer after two shows at the county football field sold out in a matter of days.

Kennedy recently wowed fans in Dublin with an impromptu performance downtown, but Limerick residents will have to wait until next summer to see him sing in Treaty City.
