Derry Girls fans ‘explode their minds’ when Chelsea Clinton appears in final episode

Derry Girls fans sobbed on the final episode of the Channel 4 hit, but ‘couldn’t cope’ with a major guest in the ending scene

Derry Girls: Chelsea Clinton guest star in the final series

Derry Girls viewers raced to Twitter on Wednesday night, as the final episode aired on Channel 4.

But a surprise appearance, involving a series of past episodes of the show, left viewers stunned and “heads-dropped” in the final moments of the hit show.

Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former US president Bill Clinton, emerges from New York in the final scenes, after receiving a letter.

Although the show is set in the 1990s, the closing moment takes place today – 27 years after Clinton’s pivotal visit to Derry.

A mysterious woman has received a letter in the mail, claiming to have been lost on the way to her in the 90s.

Chelsea is then shown on the screen, as she reads the entire letter – written by the main characters of the show.

The team sent Chelsea the letter throughout the last two seasons of the series, and in the ending scene, it eventually reaches the intended recipient.

Viewers couldn’t help but enjoy the guest show, surprised that the show convinced the writer and global health advocate to appear.

Not only that, they couldn’t believe that the group’s letter had finally been reviewed and landed at its intended destination – even if it was decades later.

Taking to Twitter, one fan said: “CHELSEA BLOODY CLINTON LADSSSS I CANT COPEEE.”

Another tweeted: “Chelsea Clinton, my mind is blown”, as a third added: “How did #DerryGirls get Chelsea Clinton?????”

A fourth viewer wrote: “Power Girls had to literally get a Chelsea Clinton cameo to end the series… this show is truly unmatched.”

Speaking of the guest appearance, Chelsea said: “Thanks to the incredible talent of Lisa McGee, along with the amazing cast and crew of Derry Girls, people around the world have been able to get a clear understanding. and refers to an extremely important and significant historical period in Northern Ireland and around the world.

“Like many people, I’m a huge fan of the series and I’m honored to be able to appear in the very special final episode. I hope everyone will enjoy watching the series as much as I have been. part of the movie!”

Chelsea isn’t the only guest in the episode that makes viewers burst out laughing with excitement.

Fans also loved the appearance of Irish comedian and actor Ardal O’Hanlon.

“OMG, Ardal O’Hanlon?? So many great cameos this season,” said one viewer.

A second fan said, “Ardal O’Hanlon, I love you <3", a third wrote: "ARDAL ON DERRY GIRLS."

Liam Neeson also made another cameo for the final episode, after appearing earlier on the show.
