Derry Girls Premiere: All cast and crew pictures come to special screening of series three

The Derry Girls are back together in the city itself for the premiere of the show’s third and final series.
The show’s cast and crew arrived on the city’s red carpet as the 6:30pm screening kicked off, and those lucky enough to be there got their first glimpse of the highly anticipated new series.
The Channel 4 comedy, which first aired in January 2018, was a smash hit with viewers and has firmly catapulted the city into the limelight, with a special screening of the first episode of the new series tonight.
Thursday’s star-studded event takes place at the Omniplex cinema on Strand Road in the city centre.
There will also be an after-party for the cast and crew and other invited guests at the city’s Guildhall.
Fans have already been pictured on social media arriving for the groundbreaking occasion and the city’s famous Derry Girls mural has also been updated ahead of the new series.
Some of the show’s most notable fans were also pictured at the event on the red carpet, including Alliance Party leader Naomi Long, DUP MP Gregory Campbell and the city’s Mayor Graham Warke.

The mural, created by Derry-based artists from UV Arts, was first unveiled in 2019 alongside the Badgers Bar on Orchard Street.
It features the main characters Erin, Orla, Clare, Michelle and James in their school uniforms.
However, Michelle has received an update in the latest addition to the mural.
She originally held up two fingers in the peace sign, but now she holds up three to indicate the third series.
Earlier this week, the characters graced the cover of a special issue of 1990s teen magazine Smash Hits.
To celebrate the much-anticipated return of Derry Girls, 4creative has partnered with Bauer Media Group to produce a colourful, 28-page magazine inspired by 1990s nostalgia and ‘last day of school mayhem’.
More than 150,000 copies will be distributed across the UK and Ireland and included with this week’s issues of Heat and Closer.
The first episode of the comedy’s third and final series will air next Tuesday, April 12th.
In series three, viewers will see that while hope is in the air that the troubles may finally be over, the group’s troubles are only just beginning as they near adulthood.
Show stars Nicola Coughlan, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Louisa Harland, Jamie-Lee O’Donnell and Dylan Llewellyn, all returning for the final episode.
