Des Bishop marries his American comedian Hannah Berner in a beach wedding in the Hamptons

Des Bishop married fellow American comedian Hannah Berner in a beautiful beachfront wedding ceremony in the Hamptons.

Es, 46, and Hannah, 30, who met online since July 2020, were engaged just seven months later.

They had hoped to wed last summer and had to postpone it due to venue issues, but have now said ‘yes, I do’ in front of friends and family at the traditional coastal getaway for New York’s elite.

The Irish-American Des followed local tradition, and the couple enjoyed a rehearsal dinner at Des’s home the night before.

Des looked elegant in a classic tuxedo and was joined by Hannah, who opted for a simple wedding dress with a long train.

It was on Valentine’s Day last year that Des popped the question after meeting his wife-to-be during the first Covid-19 lockdown.

They announced their engagement in early March in a snap of the happy couple, which Des captioned, “If you know, you know. Laugh for life.”

Shortly after they met, Des told Miriam O’Callaghan on RTÉ Radio 1 how he found “the one”.

“I also fell in love with a woman,” he said. “We didn’t know each other, we just followed each other on Instagram,” he said while explaining what he’s been up to during lockdown in New York.

“I noticed that she was isolating around here and in a moment of ‘We’re both out here, want to get some coffee?’ and boom, we clicked straight away.

It was quite an intense experience falling in love.

“I’ve met a lot of amazing women in my life, but I think that concept of ‘the one’, when you open your mind to it, really catches your eye.

“It was a stronger way of falling in love with someone than I’ve ever experienced in my life, so I’d confidently say I’ll definitely make an effort that it is because it feels like it is.” it ‘the one’.”

In a video message to hundreds of Ukrainians attending a sold-out VIP benefit concert in Cork on Friday night, Des mentioned his upcoming wedding and said it was a “special weekend” for him.

“I hope you guys have a great show. We’re all moving into new parts of our lives,” he said.

Speaking to Marty Morrissey on RTÉ Radio 1, Des joked about choosing the date for their wedding anniversary. However, he stressed that they were not superstitious.

“When I tell people in Ireland we’re getting married on Friday the 13th, the first question they ask is, ‘Did you get a deal?'” he said. “I think they think we’re cheap.”

Hannah is best known for her performance in Bravo’s summer housea popular US reality show that follows a group of friends who share a home in Montauk, New York for the summer season.

The New York native also hosts her mental health podcast, Berning in Hell.

The couple currently lives in New York.
