Designers too short-sighted when it comes to car rear-view windows

One of the few downsides to modern car design is that many don’t care too much about the rear window view.

I’ve had a few cars in the past and actually they wouldn’t have bothered with the rear fascia at all.

Call me old fashioned, but I like the idea of having a good view of what’s going on behind the scenes.

Some of the so-called “coupes” are the biggest culprits.

I know there are excellent wing mirrors and cameras and sensors to compensate for this, but a bit like having a spare tire on board, I like to feel like I’m benefiting from doing it right.

I gave up the spare wheel a long time ago, but to be honest, most current spare wheels are not a bad solution for the ever-increasing space requirements and reduced weight.

But I’ll never see any benefit in the narrow openings on the back. What do you do when they get all muddy on a ride? Some don’t even have a wiper. Designers too short-sighted when it comes to car rear-view windows
