Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has mentioned the possibility of a reboot of the hit ABC show, as 2022 marks ten years since the hit series’ finale.
The 47-year-old actress discussed whether she would be open to participating in a revisit of her fan favorite character Gabrielle Solis in an interview on Monday.
The Texas native told Rosanna Scotto during an appearance on Fox Five New York that she would definitely reprize her role on the show where she stars alongside Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman.
She said: “Trust me, I will be the first to sign up. I went to Wisteria Lane. I want, sign me up. ”
She then went on to say that show creator Mark Cherry felt he had “fully explored” the characters and would need a convincing justification for the characters’ return.
She then joked: “Plus I’m 100 years old. I don’t know if anyone cares.”
This comes after a teaser for the reboot of Desperate Housewives sent fans on a New Year’s Eve spin.
The ABC show’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts posted a photo of stars Eva Longoria, Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross, Dana Delany and Felicity Huffman on New Year’s Eve.
The caption read: “*Desperately* waiting for 2022,” leading some fans to speculate the post alludes to a possible reboot this year.
One fan wrote: “Wait? Are the desperate housewives back?! I will look! ”
Show creator Marc Cherry recently discussed the possibility of a revival of the series, telling Entertainment Weekly: “We’ve got the perfect group of women. With Desperate Housewives, I was lucky with that original cast, and I have something to say with that show.
“If I restarted it, I would have to come up with a whole new idea of what drove it. I know the recipe, and it sure would be nice if you had the extra time and money to try.”
Desperate Housewives is still loved by fans who watched from 2004 to 2012, through eight seasons of drama and horror on Wisteria Lane.
Eva also discusses motherhood to her 3-year-old son Santiago Enrique, whom she shares with husband José Bastón.
She exclaimed: “Oh my God, he is amazing. He took control of my Instagram.
“But he was really funny and talkative. He spoke Spanish. He’s great. He is traveling with me around Mexico so he is always with me.”
The Golden Globe nominee appeared on the Today Show and told hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb that becoming a mother had “changed everything” for her.
